There are things Andi does that we know for sure came from me, and things that definitely came from Thad. Here's a Thad thing, I bet you can guess what's in the bowl.

Alter Ego

Sometimes I think Andi really does have an alter ego. Last night we had a really nice family home evening lesson about temples. She was paying attention and loved coloring her temple picture. This morning even, she wanted to look at more temples and pick out all the Angel Moroni's she could see and tell me about our lesson last night. That's this Andi and it is exciting to me when she makes an appearance. She makes me feel like I'm doing my job as a mother.

But most of the time I have this Andi.

I still Love this Andi, but this personality is the sassy daredevil. The one who just jumped OFF of my parents trampoline because she wanted to fly. And who not 2 minutes later about ripped her legs in half playing on Bradons skateboard. She had one leg on and it went one way while the other leg stayed in place and she did a nice center split on the patio. This Andi frequently stomps her foot and turns her nose up in the air at me when she is being stubborn, and says "Momma I too busy, you do it" when I ask her to pick up her toys. This is the one I have staring competitions with at the dinner table because she refuses to swallow her mouthful of food, and the one who tells me "We don't color on fingers, just paper" and then shows me her hand covered in marker. When I've had enough sleep this Andi makes me laugh A LOT, but when I'm tired, like today, it feels like this Andi will be the death of me.

aggravation

So I was planning on posting pictures of our new computer armoire and the nursery all set up today, but unfortunately my plans fell through. The computer armoire did arrive on Thursday as scheduled, but the box it came in looked like the whole thing had been ripped in half and dropped off the back of the truck. Seriously, the delivery guy made me go out to the truck to look at it to make sure I didn't want to completely refuse it before he unloaded it. But I was hoping that the desk would be okay despite the look of the box. Of coure when Thad got home and opened it, it was all kinds of beat up. So we called the company and they are sending us a new one. But in the meatime that ruined my plans for the weekend. So the desk was never set-up and organized, the crib was never pulled out of our storage shed, and I'm trying to be sane a rational about it b/c I know we still have 8 weeks to get it done, but hello, nesting! It's making me crazy not to have everything set up by now!
Other than that nothing very interesting has been going on this week. Andi continues to test my limits and see what she can get away with, and although I do enjoy the fact that she can comunicate with me pretty clearly now, I don't always like what she has to say, and sometimes we fight. Like yesterday when I told her she needed to go potty before she could watch the movie she was asking for. She stomped down the hall yelling "I don't want to potty, I'm mad girl!" and then when I went in to make sure she didn't need help she yelled at me to go away. Needless to say that last part earned her some punishment and it was a while before she actually got to watch her movie. Such is life with a teenage toddler!

The Weekend

It has been a semi-busy, but very enjoyable weekend. Saturday we dinked around the house finishing projects that have been waiting for that last little step for a while. Like the doorways into the kitchen and dinning room. Months ago when Thad was re-wiring everything he decided that the pocket doors that were there were in the way, and since we never ever used them they should come out. So out they came and the wiring got done, but the holes in the door frame were left for another day. Well Saturday was finally the day! We also finished painting the swing set.
Sunday was Thads birthday, which started off with Andi being very kind and sleeping in till almost 9, which let us sleep in! Luckily church isn't till 11. After church we had dinner at my parents and then had cake and ice cream at our house with both sides of the family. This is what Thad looks like at 27 and what Andi looks like rockin her strawberry shortcake glasses.


Monday again started off dinkin around the house. Then we spent the early afternoon at G&G Richards house swimming and having a BBQ. Andi has a ball whenever she gets to play with Paige. After that we headed out to have another BBQ witha bunch of friends in the ward. Again, Andi has a blast because pretty much the entire nursery was there running around the ball field. Of course we did not bring our camera to either of these event and we missed lots of really cute Photo opps of Andi and her friends but we did take a picture of the aftermath. This is what Andi looks like at the end of a no nap day full of swimming and climbing on dirty bleachers and filing up on cheetos. Sick. (enlarge picture to see textures of filth)
