Wrapping up the school year

Well, April is over and we're halfway in to May. We are in the final stretch to summer break and the kids are counting down. I'm not sure I'm ready for summer break, but I am so ready for homework and early mornings to be done for a while. And afternoons by the pool are sounding pretty good right about now too.

I need to get some more broken electronics before then though because it's one of very few things the kids will all do together peacefully.

We got to go to Andi's recorder concert in April. The first of many band concerts I'm sure. She's already looking forward to learning a new instrument next year.

Mother's day happened. It was a very busy day, both during church and afterwards, but it was a pleasant day nonetheless. This picture is not actually from mothers day, but since we didn't get any that morning I'm counting it.  These three make me crazy most days, but I wouldn't trade them for anything.

The boys had their annual Father and Sons camp out this weekend and Peter got to go this year. He was so excited about the whole thing. He told everyone we saw last week that he was going camping with his dad and going to sleep in a tent. The boys loved finding tadpoles, and snakes, and getting filthy. I don't know why I even pack bags for them because they always come home in the clothes they left in. But they both had a great trip.

Meanwhile Andi and I had our annual girls night complete with pedicures, dinner out, shopping, and a movie. I was all ready for High School Musical or something along those lines, but she chose Pirates of the Caribbean. I guess she wanted to watch a grown up movie. She keeps trying to grow up.
And now for the Peter crying montage. That kids has been a mess lately, at church, at home, pretty much everywhere. This happened because he refused to pick up the cup he threw in the grass, and I wouldn't let him in till he picked it off. It was a 15 minute stand off that eventually ended in a draw as I took his hand and walked him to the cup and he finally picked it up and brought it in.

This happened when I left the house. He doesn't like begin left behind.

This was another fun timeout during church.

And this day we hadn't even made it to church when the crying started.

But he is happy sometimes, I promise. Like when his favorite neighbors give him candy or a bunch of peeps on a stick.

Or when he gets in the tree all by himself. (We are getting rid of that car.)

Or when we go to the kids museum and there are gears everywhere.

Or when riding the electric scooter that is as big as he is.
