February Wrap-up

It's the first weekend of March already, and it's definitely spring around here. The weather is warm, all the plants are blooming and T-ball has begun. Today was Sammy's first t-ball practice, and I'm not sure who was more excited, Sammy or Thad.

Andi had her spring patriotic program at school this week and it was really nice. It was just the second grade classes and they sang 9 songs, recited the midnight ride of Paul Revere, and quoted excerpts from the Gettysburg Address and quotes from people like Winston Churchill. I was totally impressed. Thad took video of all the songs and Andi's speaking part, but because we were so far back we really didn't get any good pictures. She could not look at Thad without smiling, so avoided eye contact through the whole thing.
Peter had a few firsts this week as well. He got his first hair cut, if you can call it that. I just trimmed the scraggly mullet hair in the back. It looks much better. He also started sitting in the basket all by himself, and loves it. He sits quietly all the way through the stores and just looks around.

Peter has a favorite show. Baby Einstein of course, but the numbers nursery to be specific. He smiles at the little puppets as they come on the screen, and that is my guaranteed 20 minutes of peace to make dinner.

Sammy had another one of his mishaps last weekend. It went a little something like this.
M: "No Sammy, you can't ride the skateboard."
S: "I'm just going to ride on my tummy."
M: "No, especially not on your tummy, you'll hurt your face."
S: "But i'll be careful."
M: "don't do it Sam."
10 minutes later. . . screaming from the front yard. Yep, he rode it on his tummy, and used his face as the brakes.

His top lip was so swollen it stuck out almost as far as his nose. He's healed really fast though. It's only been a week and all the scabs are already gone.
The yard projects continued this week. Thads parent's were kind enough to give us their old set of outdoor furniture. So we brought it home, stained is to match the pergola, made some new covers for the cushions and tada! Check out door seating off the list.
