What Happened?!

Okay, really this time, it's been a month and I have no idea where November went or what we've been doing. This is why I need to post more frequently, so I can remember details and daily funny things. Basically two big things happened in November. First Ashlynn got married on November 9th.

The Bash has been apart of my life since she was a teeny tiny baby. She and Alexis were my first baby sitting job ever and I spent many a friday night and summer day with them over the next 8 years. When we moved back to Bakersfield, she became my kids baby sitter and they love her. We all do, and are happy for the new life she and Sean get to build.

Shout out to the bridesmaids/sisters of the bride. And stupid Ben photo-bombing.

But let's rewind like 3 days and talk about the reception set up extravaganza and how someone thought it was a great idea to drop the ceiling in the cultural hall with hundreds of yards of fabric.  It turned out just lovely, but I think everyone had some serious neck pain for a few days after, from staring straight up all day long trying to align the fabric at every possible angle.

Then of course there was Thanksgiving. We hosted Thad's family this year and it was a lot of fun to hang out with Cousins we haven't seen in a couple of years. I took zero pictures, but there were about 30 of us and it was a lovely day full of food and lot's of laughing. Thad and the Morgan boys are so much alike in some ways it's weird. But I do have a picture of the turkey hand off. We decided Grandma needed to be relieved of that responsibility, but since no one else has ever had to cook the turkey, I went and learned how to stuff and package a turkey for baking. It is precise, and daunting, and we worried all morning while it was cooking that somehow we would mess it up and ruin thanksgiving. But it was delicious!

Also, a few days before Thanksgiving we got an outdoor firepit to go under the pergola. The kids love it and ask every night to have coa coa by the fire.

I know I've mentioned that Peter is constantly getting in to things. But here is just more proof to catalog the daily battle of keeping the house is some semblance of order. I guess the best way to empty a drawer is to climb in  it first and then throw everything out.

We are fully into December and the Christmas spirit around here. The tree and stockings are up, the kids are counting down, and watching a new Christmas cartoon they find on netflix every day.  The shopping is done (thank you amazon), the homemade gifts are coming along nicely, and the celebrations begin this weekend with a grown up's only party. Andi saw it on the calendar and thought we were all going to her friends house. When I told her it was no kids allowed she said, "That's rude. I invite you to my tea parties!"  One day she will understand.
