Balding Baby
Okay, so I know all babies loose the hair they were born with, but i'm a little distressed that Andi is loosing hers. It's falling out really quickly, and in weird spots, so now she's got Mr T hair!
Pretty much like this. . . minus the sideburns and beard.

Portland Here We Come!
So we finally found out today that we will be in Portand this summer. Kinda exciting . . . mostly because we are finally getting out of Utah for a while! Thad is looking foreword to not taking classes and working on a cool project. Now we just have to find a place to live.

We have Andi on a schedule so she will sleep long periods of time at night. So during the day we wake her up every 4 hours, feed her, and then have to keep her awake for 2 hours. Keeping her awake is not an easy task. Last night however we discovered that if you buzz your lips at her in a high pitch it makes her do this.
And then she's wide awake for a while ;)

Live for Today
Saturday we had a great time visitng with friends we had not seen in a long time. Tarin & Marc were up from Bako and Diana came too. Tarin, Di & I used to be roomates...alot has happened since then. What was really fun was seeing how happy they both were. We used to stress about finding "the one" and what the rest of our lives would be like. . . we spent hours talking about what our futures held in store. This time however we spent the time talking about the babies, giving birth, baby milestones. . . all the things that seem to consume our lives now. Which I think is a good change. Instead of worrying about the future we are finally living in the moment, and really learning to enjoy the little things.

Sleep is Good
About halfway through my pregnancy everyone started telling me to get sleep now because I wouldn't sleep for years after Andi was born. I remember telling my mom, and some other moms about this book we were reading, and they pretty much laughed at me like it wasn't going to work. The book is Babywise, and it promises that if you follow their schedule your baby will be sleeping 7-8 hours a night consistently by 6 weeks, and 8-10 hours a night by 10 weeks. I would just like to say, to all of you who laughed at my plan, that Andi is 5 weeks old today and slept for 7 straight hours last night, 6 the night before. So as you can see the plan is working after all. . . ha ha ha, I get to sleep!

Future Nudist
From my experience most babies throw fits when it's bath time or diaper changing time. In fact i'm told when I was a baby all they had to do is un-wrap my blanket and i'd scream. Andi however loves both the bath tub and the changing table. If she's fussy all you have to do is lay her on the table and she quiets right down. If she thinks that diaper is coming off she is a happy camper. She seems to be very comfortable naked. Either she likes it better because she spent 9 months naked inside of me, or we have a future nudist on our hands. Hopefully it's not the later and she'll learn to be modest as she grows up.
Ridiculous!
Insurance companies are a joke! We had to switch insurance carriers after Januray because we were covered through my employer. But now that I'm not working we had to get something else. . . and had to go through Blue Cross so we would be covered outside of Utah during the internship this summer. Anyway they decided to cover me & Thad, but not Andi. . . reason: she spits up alot. No, i'm not joking. On her two week well check the Dr noted that she had "possible reflux" because she spit up alot if we layed her flat to soon after eating. So BC rejects her saying she has a pre-existing condition. RETARDS!!!!!! So now we are in a fight. . . pretty sure i'm gonna win.

Date Night
Thad and I went out to dinner last night for V-Day. . . our first date night since Andi. And I found that we spent the time talking about Andi's bowel movements and what effect the different formulas were having on them. So much for a romantic dinner. . . life as we know it is definitly different now.

A little shady
So the house we have been living in the last year and a half belonged to Thad's boss. We've been renting from him untill he decided to sell several of the properties that he owns, including our house. He closed the deal on the property a month ago, and we have a new landlord now. Except we can't get ahold of him. We've called, Thad's boss has called, and the new guy said he would call us, but it hasn't happened yet. Seems a little bit weird that the guy wouldn't call his tenants to arrange rent payments doesn't it? I guess I shouldn't complain, rent free living would be fabulous...it just seems a little shady to me.
Anyway, Thad is still trying to get the guy at Keiwitt that he is going to be working with this summer to call him back so we can find out where we are going to be living.
Not having such great luck with people calling us.

Adventures with Andi
Life as Thad and I know it has changed drastically in the last month. And this page will now be dedicated to this new and interesting state of being in an attempt to keep family and friends updated on all things Andi. . . and anything else interesting that might be going on. . . but I know right now most of you are only interested in Andi ;)
So for an update: Tomorrow Andi will be one month old officially. She is now weighing in at 10 lbs maybe a little more. . . our scale at home is not as precise as the one at the Dr's office. She is doing well with the routine we are trying to put her on, and only wakes up once maybe twice a night. . . and I am really grateful for that. She is getting more entertaining in her waking hours as you will start to see from her pictures. For all the latest photo's go to Thad's website at www.et.byu.edu/~tsb43
In other news we should find out this week where we will be headed for the internship, and we'll be sure to keep you all posted.
